Testing for Individual HLA Alleles

Patients are tested for particular HLA alleles, for use in the diagnosis or treatment of various conditions. The following is a partial listing of HLA/disease or drug hypersensitivity associations.

Testing Details for Individual HLA Alleles

  • Specimen Requirements: One 10cc ACD blood (yellow top, solution A or B) tube
  • Labeling Requirements: Specimen must have the patient’s first and last name, a date of draw and a unique identifier written on the tube.
  • All specimens must be accompanied by a Request for Testing Form
  • Analytic Time: See specific test for details.
