Test Information An enzyme linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA) using a complex of heparin and Platelet Factor 4 (PF4) is used to capture antibody developed during type II Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT).   Detection of IgG antibody along with a strong clinical history supports a diagnosis of HIT.

Sample Information Whole blood can be sent at ambient temperature to receive within 24 hours of draw. Frozen plasma samples can be sent over the weekend. Friday after 12 Noon thru Sunday night, weekend shipping directions apply.
Shipping Information Send whole blood at ambient temperature Monday – Friday and should be received in the lab within 24 hours of collection.
